  • Maintain high code quality standards on the team with a focus on clean, maintainable, and scalable code
  • Oversee and guide the technical work of contractor engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and engineering standards
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and provide mentorship where appropriate
  • Help establish and refine engineering processes, tools, and workflows to improve team effectiveness and efficiency
  • Evaluate third‑party solution options and contribute to build‑vs‑buy decisions
  • Act as the technical owner for key areas of the platform, monitoring platform analytics and performance and proactively identifying potential issues and areas for improvement
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly with Shopify, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years hands on development experience with a focus on React
  • 2+ years in an engineering team lead role
  • Strong understanding of headless e‑commerce and its applications;

  • Is able to self‑manage, but can collaborate effectively
  • Doesn’t feel comfortable committing code without tests
  • Strong front‑end/JavaScript knowledge, React in particular
  • Exhibits leadership qualities, including strong communications skills
  • Located in the US (strong preference for East Coast), with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 per year.
