The Position

Our Arlington studio is looking for a well-rounded licensed architect who is passionate about K-12/Higher Education/Municipal architecture and has relevant experience in that market. We are looking for a team player who cares about quality design, client service, and the built environment.

We offer a clear avenue for growth and upward mobility, potentially the Market Section Leader for the northern region for the right person.

Qualifications

• Licensed architect in VA or MD; LEED AP preferred
• Architecture and Architectural Design skills with 10 or more years K-12/Higher Education/Municipal experience
• Office leader skills in management of experienced and inexperienced support staff
• Must have team attitude with soft skills, capable of dealing collaboratively and cooperatively with staff, clients and consultants
• Strong knowledge of K-12/Higher Education/Municipal design principles, design quality, and design ability
• Understands and able to work in and/or manage all the workflows from business development pursuits to construction administration (well rounded)
• Work with business development team in strategic efforts to win work
• Oversee K-12/Higher Education/Municipal staff efforts in coordination with the Studio Head
• Attends K-12/Higher Education/Municipal conferences and joins firm’s overall studio management discussions
• Mentor younger staff in support role, oversee project design and production, and maintain client relationships
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
