Wood is recruiting an Industrial Architect with design and production experience across the industrial, chemical, energy, and paper markets. The role will support the preparation of construction drawings, development of specifications, and facility assessments for Wood’s Specialty Industrial Clients.
This position supports architectural design from conceptual studies, feasibility analysis, construction-grade scope and estimates, detailed design, and construction field support. Hiring for Tucker (Atlanta, GA) or Greenville, SC. Hybrid or remote work options available. Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship is required.
The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an architect interested in gaining deeper experience in industrial building design. The role supports the development of architectural deliverables, coordinates multidisciplinary inputs, ensures compliance with building codes, and provides construction support.
You will contribute across project phases—design development, construction documents, bidding/procurement, and construction administration—working closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams.

- Performs and oversees various tasks in all project phases of architectural design:
Design Development;
Construction Documents;
Bidding or Procurement and Construction Administration - Daily activities include problem-solving on both large projects and small consultations for project managers and other disciplines.
- Provides a wide range of architectural services while maintaining a prioritization of tasks.
- Participates and coordinates the preparation and quality of contract documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Responsible to review and rectify architectural design to applicable Buildings Codes and produce documents including Life‑Safety, Egress, Accessibility, and General Code Compliance drawings and narratives.
- Coordinates multiple‑discipline overlays, construction techniques, and sequences. Project experience with 3D collision detection and clash management.
- Effectively addresses problems and questions as they occur during construction.
- Writes reports such as feasibility studies, design criteria, and material recommendations.
- Responsible for coordination of all aspects of other disciplines as they affect the building envelope and interior.
- The candidate will follow projects through approvals and construction.

- Bachelor of Architecture (5‑year program) or Master of Architecture
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant architectural experience
- NCARB certification required
- Experience evaluating hazardous materials, high‑hazard occupancies, and implementing compliant designs
- Experience with fire separation, blast‑resistant design, and damage‑limiting construction
- Proficiency with:
Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ACC / BIM 360, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office & Teams - Spec Link Cloud experience preferred
- Project management and permitting experience preferred
