Customer Experience Consultant Trainee
As a Customer Service Consultant, you will be the vital link between a customer’s at-home and in-store Car Max experience, providing a simple and seamless process. You will respond to sales leads and customer inquiries, ensuring customers can buy the vehicle they want in a way that suits them. You will offer support during every step of their car buying journey.

Position OverviewThis position is part of a mobile sales team that connects customers online, over the phone, and in-store. You’ll guide customers from lead to delivery, helping them find the right vehicle and managing all required steps, from appraisal to finance and delivery scheduling.

RoleResponsibilities
- Connect with inbound customers online and over the phone to find out what they want and need from their next car purchase.
- Use your knowledge of the Car Max inventory to guide customers towards vehicles that meet their needs.
- Guide customers every step of the way, from online sales or appraisal to arranging finance applications and scheduling vehicle delivery.
- Ensure a seamless transition from online to in-store purchasing to provide an unrivaled customer service experience.
- Mentor others as your skillset expands.
- Achieve sales targets while providing an iconic customer experience.
- Acquire the Automotive Sales Person License in specific states – may require testing and travel as some states request physical presence to apply for the license.
- Customer Experience Consultants receive an hourly rate, and after their training, have the opportunity to earn a performance‑based sales incentive in addition to their hourly rate.
- Sales and customer service experience, in an area such as retail, is preferred.
- Thrive in a fast‑paced sales environment.
- Good listening skills and a strong customer focus.
- High level of self‑motivation to achieve performance goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and master new technologies; strong computer skills.
- Open availability for shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be open to shifting schedules two times per year according to needs of the business.
- Candidates must live within 60 miles or 1 hour of the Customer Experience Center (CEC) location.
