37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
JOB PAY RATE: £15.88 per hour including holiday pay
JOB WORKING: 5 days per week on site but may move to 2 days working from home later in the contract

Hays is happy to be working with one of our Peterborough clients as they recruit four experienced Customer Order Management Representatives to support a major new project. This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised engineering business and play a key role in delivering first-class customer support on a long-term contract.

Your new role
Your job will be to act as the single point of contact for a portfolio of customer accounts, managing the full order life cycle from start to finish. You’ll make sure orders are processed accurately and shipped on time, keeping customers updated throughout and working closely with internal teams across logistics, manufacturing, quality and parts distribution.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the full order life cycle, including new customer setup, order entry and modifications, escalations and logistics coordination
• Acting as the main contact for customers, ensuring clear and proactive communication
• Providing accurate order documentation and regular updates
• Resolving complex customer queries by understanding internal systems, processes and practices
• Working with senior support for escalations and ensuring accurate records of all interactions
• Ensuring orders meet export and compliance requirements
• Submitting non-conformance reports through the Quality Management System
• Supporting customer visits, reporting and departmental improvement work
• Contributing to ongoing process improvement initiatives

• Strong communication skills and confidence in managing multiple stakeholders
• Technical affinity and the ability to understand product information

• Experience with order processing systems and managing full order life cycles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
