About Us

Clean Shores is a program of Seaside Sustainability, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Clean Shores is dedicated to fighting ocean pollution. We use innovative devices to help remove waste from our beaches and oceans without harming the environment. Our current initiative is to acquire our first BeBot—an eco-friendly, beach-cleaning robot that will help maintain clean, healthy shorelines starting in the Gloucester, Massachusetts area.

Seaside Sustainability’s mission is to advocate, educate, and deliver tangible solutions to advance environmental stewardship. Seaside’s programs educate people of all ages about the critical issues that threaten our environment, promote best practices for sustainability, and inspire meaningful advocacy and hands‑on action.

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, dependable, motivated Video Content Intern or Volunteer to help capture and create short‑form video content on Gloucester‑area beaches and nearby locations for Seaside Sustainability, including Clean Shores. This role is ideal for someone interested in video production, storytelling, and social‑media content. The intern will work closely with our video team, and all work will be reviewed and approved before publishing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record video content on Gloucester‑area beaches and coastal locations as part of our social media team
  • Write short‑form video copy/captions to accompany filmed content
  • Shoot high‑quality video using a phone or camera
  • Do basic video editing, if interested
  • Coordinate and collaborate with one or two other local interns on certain projects
  • Follow creative direction, brand guidelines, and feedback from our video team
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous content creation or media coursework
  • Hands‑on experience creating video content (personal, academic, or professional) is preferred.
  • Interest in video creation and social media content
  • Comfortable filming outdoors
  • Basic understanding of framing, lighting, and shooting video
  • Strong written communication skills for writing video copy/captions
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Creativity and ability to produce visually appealing content
  • Detail‑oriented and organized for scheduling and managing shoots
  • Reliable transportation to Gloucester‑area locations
  • Ability to take direction, accept feedback, and meet deadlines
  • Experience with video editing tools such as:
    • Cap Cut
    • Adobe Premiere Pro
    • Final Cut Pro
    • iMovie
    • or similar
  • Familiarity with Instagram Reels, Tik Tok, and Facebook videos or short‑form video trends
  • Interest in sustainability and environmental awareness

  • Continue to build a portfolio of published content

Work Environment
  • Attend on‑site work sessions at our Gloucester, MA home office as needed
  • Work with other interns across the globe
  • Interns must have access to a computer, tablet, or mobile device with an internet connection to perform duties, attend meetings, and communicate effectively.
  • Interns are expected to commit at least fifteen hours per week and meet weekly deadlines set by their supervisors.
Duration and Compensation
  • Duration: 5 months (flexible start and end dates).
  • Compensation:
    This is an unpaid internship. However, it provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience.
