ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Creative Designs Fellow, you will support the creation of visually engaging and impactful materials that enhance the storytelling and communication efforts of the organization. Working under the mentorship of the Creative Designs Specialist, you will contribute to designing reports, presentations, promotional materials, and more. This fellowship is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about design and storytelling to develop their skills while making a meaningful impact.
This is a remote position.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an internship opportunity. We will collaborate with your school to help you obtain a stipend through summer internship programming
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Support
- Assist in designing reports, one-pagers, presentations, and infographics that translate complex data into clear, visually appealing content.
- Create digital and print materials including flyers, posters, newsletters, and social media graphics, aligned with organizational branding.
- Help develop templates and visual resources to maintain consistency across projects and campaigns.
Website Content & Social Media Support
- Assist with website updates, content creation, and layout design to ensure information is accessible and visually engaging.
- Create graphics and content for social media campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational messaging and branding.
- Monitor social media engagement and assist in tracking analytics to help inform content strategy.
- Contribute to brainstorming and planning for social media initiatives, helping to develop creative ideas that engage audiences.
- Collaborate with various teams to understand project needs and deliver creative solutions that meet organizational goals.
- Partner with the Storytelling & Communications Coordinator to brainstorm ideas, review drafts, and refine materials based on feedback.
- Provide input on branding and design updates to ensure consistency and quality across all materials.
Branding & Resource Management
- Maintain and update internal design templates, graphic resources, and tools to streamline projects.
- Uphold organizational brand standards in all creative outputs, ensuring consistency across platforms and formats.
Projects & Ad Hoc Tasks
- Support the development of creative projects, including newsletters, team cards, and other special initiatives.
- Assist with promotional campaigns, such as survey distribution materials, outreach flyers, and event promotions.
- Take on ad hoc design tasks as needed, supporting organizational goals and priorities.
Professional Development
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance design, digital media, and storytelling skills.
- Stay current on design and social media trends, tools, and best practices, applying learnings to projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interest in graphic design, visual storytelling, and creative communication.
- Basic proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools).
- Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work well with a team.
- Commitment to personal and professional growth.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- As a Creative Designs Fellow, you will:
- Develop hands-on experience in graphic design and visual storytelling for nonprofit and impact-driven organizations.
- Learn to create materials that effectively balance creativity and strategic messaging.
- Build a portfolio of diverse design projects, including reports, promotional materials, and digital content.
