Job Description:
We’re looking for a Graphic Designer with an open mind and a strange brain. Someone who enjoys ideas that feel a bit wrong before they feel brilliant.
Some people colour inside the lines.
We are not looking for those people.
KOI has never been a 'regular' brand. We build things that shouldn’t exist, shoes with chains, demons, ribbons, chaos, kawaii, darkness, absurdity and everything in between. The internet either loves it or hates it. Both are fine.
If your work has ever made someone say 'wtf', you might be the right person.
What you'll be doingThis role isn’t one narrow lane. You’ll be designing across the various creative projects of the brand such as:
- Editing campaign imagery for shoes or clothing
- Designing website banners or social graphics
- Creating weird characters or creatures for a collection
- Building email designs and launch graphics
- Designing tea menus for a new concept project
- Illustrating strange graphics that somehow make sense in the KOI universe
KOI moves fast and creativity flows across many projects.
If you enjoy switching gears and experimenting, you’ll thrive here.
The EnvironmentOur office is a creative hub, not a corporate department, it's a place where we always strive to be better.
You’ll be working closely with the founder and the creative team, contributing ideas, reacting to cultural moments, and helping push the brand forward.
We collaborate constantly. We discuss ideas and how to action them. We support each other.
We want designers who are part of the creative energy, not just people executing instructions.
Every Wednesday we work from home.
You might be right for this role if:- You have a curious, unconventional mind
- You’re comfortable experimenting with strange or unexpected ideas
- You can switch between polished graphics and chaotic creative work
- You’re collaborative and enjoy building things with a team
- You take pride in your craft but don’t take yourself too seriously
- Previous experience in a similar role
- A university degree in Graphic Design or similar
- Proficient in Blender and Adobe Creative Cloud especially in Photoshop and After Effects
- Video editing and animation skills
- Basic understanding of photography and videography
Bonus points if your work lives somewhere between fashion, internet culture, art and chaos.
PortfolioSend us your portfolio, especially the weirdest things you've made.
Final noteThis job isn’t for everyone, but if you enjoy building strange things with other creative people and pushing ideas further than they should probably go, you’ll fit right in.
