Creative Design Manager

VCNY Home is a forward‑thinking home textiles supplier offering modern designs for every lifestyle and budget; we specialize in bedding, bath, window treatments, area rugs, home décor, and table linens. Only candidates located in NY or NJ will be considered.

• Travel to Europe/Asia to identify emerging themes and new inspirations. This includes all international industry, appropriate trade shows and international comparative shopping.
• Responsible for shopping the retail markets seeking new trend ideas for Off Price retailers.
• Lead the research direction and development of seasonal trends.
• Responsible for line plan initiation and direction.
• Participate in customer presentations as needed.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design or related field
• Minimum 7+ years’ design experience in the home textile industry
• Minimum 7+ years’ merchandising experience
• Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator
• Meticulous with a robust design sense
• Thorough knowledge and expertise of design & product development processes, including textiles, and demonstrated expertise in color, fabric, pattern, and execution experience.
• Ability to thrive in a demanding environment.
• Flexibility and team‑player mentality
• Effective communication skills
  -both verbal and written
• Elevated creative knowledge combined with a good sense of fashion.
