ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re seeking a proactive and self-motivated Event Coordinator – 16-month maternity cover to guide our customers and internal teams, seamlessly through planning and event execution. You appreciate the results of purposeful work and building relations with new and existing clients, industry partners, and suppliers.
Providing proactive, innovative ideas, you align your planning with client goals, to facilitate success for our clients and operational clarity for our staff. In addition, you’re attentive to precision and details when clearly communicating client orders and expectations in our event software.
While most of your work will happen in the Convention Centre, this role provides the opportunity for remote work. Core work happens during Monday-Friday business hours but the ability to work outside these hours based on an event’s schedule is essential.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build and maintain successful client relationships through event planning and execution.
- Work with clients in the consumer show, trade show, conference, and day meeting markets.
- Take responsibility to integrate events into our venue through effective use of time management, negotiation, and innovative solutions.
- Communicate event requirements to provisioning departments and coordinating logistics with industry suppliers.
- Manage concurrent events, clients, and business improvement projects.
- Taking the lead conducting site visits, facilitating planning meetings, and public speaking in front of small and large groups of customers online and in person.
WHAT YOU BRING
- At least 3 years of experience in event planning, tourism, venue, or hotel management
- Completion of a 2-year diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, Event Management or 4-year university degree
- Experience in a client relations role with primary responsibility of their success and outcome
- Exceptional communication skills, able to clearly express ideas, thoughts, and concepts verbally and in writing.
- Self-motivation and proven willingness and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Proficiency using venue booking software or a CRM database .

ASSETS
- Previous experience using an event drawing tool such as Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or All Seated
- Functional supervision of staff
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $69,000
Offers will be in line with Pav Co’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.
Salary discussion and overall compensation package will be presented during initial phone interviews.
