Haymarket Media Inc. is seeking an
Editorial Intern to join the McKnight’s Long-Term Care News,
McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Home Care teams. This internship is based out of our Northbrook, IL, office but consideration will be given to remote workers.
The summer intern will perform a variety of reporting, writing and editing tasks for news for the company’s McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Home Care brands. McKnight’s LTC News has a bimonthly print edition and daily and weekly e-newsletters, reflecting what skilled nursing providers need to know. McKnight’s Senior Living has a quarterly print edition and a daily e-newsletter, focused on assisted living providers.
McKnight’s Home Care produces a daily newsletter. The intern will be asked to learn about policy issues and at various times write features, as well as news on tight deadlines.
Ideal candidates must be able to craft copy that is concise, clear, interesting and, above all, accurate. They also must have copy editing, content management system and social media experience.
This nine‑week summer internship program will run from June 15, 2026 to August 14, 2026 (9 weeks). This is a paid, full‑time internship and is not for college credit.
Responsibilities include- Basic website management and social media updates
- Work on custom print and digital content
- Writing and editing feature articles for print and online edition
- Daily news writing
- Must be enrolled or have recently graduated from an undergraduate program at a college/university
- Interest in elder care, including assisted living and memory care and ability to write clinical, product, policy and crime stories
- Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills
- Ability to write short, targeted articles homing in on subjects’ importance to readers
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Must provide own housing and transportation to and from work or ability to work remotely (as applicable)
