Position: Video Creative (Videographer & Editor)

DAKONA is a purpose-led video production company in Cardiff, building video campaigns that cuts through noise, rethink content from the ground up, and turn storytelling into a high-impact tool in a fast-changing digital landscape.

We fuse creative instinct with tech that actually works. No fluff. No filler. Just bold, crafted visuals that don’t chase trends – we set them.

Role Description

We’re looking to bring on board a full-time Video Creative who is incredibly passionate about developing cinematic, engaging, and entertaining content for our clients.

We work across a variety of industries, creating everything from online videos and advertisements to animation. We’re looking for a talented all-rounder to take ownership of the entire creative process – from initial ideation and pre-production, to hands-on camera operation, right through to the final edit and delivery. Although we want someone that can spread their wings in this area, we’re hoping the ideal candidate can strengthen and support other elements of our video business through a combination of a proactive attitude, depth of knowledge, and creative thinking.

Our team works collaboratively on every project to promote an inclusive process. As a small but growing company, there will be an overlap in your responsibilities, making this the perfect role for an ambitious creative who wants to have a significant impact and grow alongside us.

What you’ll be up to
  • Ideation & Pre-production: Contributing to the development of innovative concepts, treatments, storyboards, and mood boards to improve our overall creative output.
  • Client Strategy: Taking the time to understand the complexities of our clients’ needs, finding ways to add value, and sharing creative ideas through compelling storytelling.
  • Production: Filming in different environments across South Wales and the UK, bringing a high level of creative input to the set.
  • Post-Production: Editing, colour grading, and delivering high-standard exports tailored to specific platforms and brand guidelines.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

Inspiring creativity within the agency, networking, and proactively finding ways to support other areas of our video business.
What we need
  • A Standout Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating your visual skills, storytelling ability, and technical filmmaking knowledge.
  • Industry

    Experience:

Proven experience working within the film industry or a creative agency.
  • Technical Chops: Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (and the wider Adobe Creative Suite), as well as DaVinci Resolve. You should also have a solid understanding of video workflows, file types, and codecs.
  • Equipment Know-How: Confident operating professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Logistics: A full UK driving license and the ability to travel for shoots.
  • The Right Mindset: An innovator who is happy working both independently and as part of a team, can manage multiple tasks on tight deadlines, and loves sharing emerging industry trends.
Our culture
  • We’re creatives and risk-takers; we don’t believe in complacency.
  • We have a deep love of cinema and constantly challenge opinions to promote creativity.
  • We believe the studio should feel like a home away from home. That means no strict dress code, taking time out when you get a creative block, and having the freedom to explore different ideas.
  • We believe in paying it forward by supporting young creatives through work experience and career pathways.
  • We reward hard work. If you look after us, we’ll look after you.
Perks of the role
  • 28 days paid holiday
, plus the Christmas period off.
  • Flexible working hours. Life doesn’t stop when you’re  our productions don’t always conform to “9-5”, we give that flexibility right back to you.
  • Work from home days.
  • Dog-friendly office
(because nothing’s better than having a pooch in the studio!).
  • Significant growth opportunities
, with active support in achieving your personal and professional goals.
