What is the Ooks Life Team?

Every year, NAITSA hires a team of student leaders to help plan and promote events and initiatives for their fellow NAIT students. The Ooks Life Team (OLT) works together to create memorable experiences and a strong sense of campus community.

Being part of OLT means you’ll grow your skills, meet new people, and make a real impact on campus (all while getting paid to do it!)

There are several positions on the Ooks Life Team—ranging from Clubs Events and Clubs Finance to Promotions, Volunteer, and Events Coordinators. Each has unique responsibilities, but everyone collaborates to bring campus life to the next level.

Position Summary

As an Events Coordinator, you’ll be one of the creative minds behind many of the exciting events you see at Nest Eatery and across campus. You’ll brainstorm, plan, and bring events to life—from concept to completion—and gather feedback to make each one better than the last.

This role is perfect for students who love being part of the action, thrive on collaboration, and enjoy creating memorable experiences for others.

What You’ll Do

Events Coordinators play a key role in creating a vibrant campus life. This role focuses on two main areas:

Networking & Relationship Building
  • Promote campus events and help raise awareness among students
  • Build connections with event attendees and encourage them to stay involved
  • Work with the Ooks Life Team to ensure events appeal to NAIT’s diverse student population
  • Encourage students to use  t o stay connected and informed about upcoming events
Event Planning, Coordination & Implementation
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm fun, engaging event ideas—both on campus and virtual.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders during event planning, setup, and evaluation.
  • Create event charters that include logistics, budgets, timelines, contacts, promotion plans, and risk assessments.
  • Lead and support on-site, day of the event, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
  • Gather feedback and complete post-event evaluations to improve future events.
Hours of Work & Employment Term
  • Part-time, temporary position starting April 2026 and ending April 30, 2027
  • Hours vary month to month (limited in summer; busiest during the academic year)
  • Primarily on campus, with occasional off-campus or remote work as needed
Qualifications
  • Enrolled NAIT student for the entire 2026–27 year
  • Must be available for shifts during peak periods including NAIT Student Orientation, Pancake Breakfast, and Nest Fest
  • Great communicator, both written and verbal
  • Reliable and organized; meets deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable with , Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
  • Experience with event planning is an asset
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Access to a computer with a camera and mic for meetings or remote work

I nterview Process

Candidates selected for an interview will be provided with an assignment to prepare and present during the interview. The brief assignment will focus on the skills applicable to this role.
