Job Purpose
The Assistant Editor IC plays a critical role on the Creative Services Team by working on various editing projects. They are responsible for QC, TE, Metadata, pulling selects for producers, preparing edit timelines, and assisting the editors and media manager with their project load.
The Assistant Editor IC must have previous assistant editorial experience and possess a solid knowledge of Adobe Suite products. Working knowledge of Adobe Suite and Premiere. The ideal candidate should be extremely organized and able to work without daily supervision. They will collaborate with internal and external producers as they edit various products, requiring strong self-direction and motivation.
Duties and Responsibilities- Create versions for promos.
- Edit using Adobe Premiere.
- Mix audio for picture as needed.
- TE master files.
- Re-time videos.
- Work with After Effects to create graphics for programming.
- Collaborate with producers and assistant editors on various projects.
- Mine raw media for bites for various projects.
- Edit EPK footage.
- Edit internal videos as needed.
- Media Management
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Editor.
- General knowledge of a full-service production facility (production, post-production, graphics, and audio) along with general technical and production equipment knowledge.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop is required.
- Working knowledge of Avid and Resolve is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a plus.
- Willingness to work extended hours is crucial.
- Must be able to maintain composure while working in high-pressure and fast-moving situations.
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time management skills are essential to the success of this job.
This position is in an office environment and is fully onsite at our headquarters in Arlington, TX.
Depending on the candidate’s location, we may consider a fully remote position.
