Pomegranate seeks a Marketing Writer and Editorial Associate
. This position creates, edits, and maintains marketing and product copy for consumer- and business-facing materials across print and digital channels, including catalogs, product packaging (puzzles, calendars, stationery, etc.), social media, email, and advertising. The position requires communication with third-party contributors—such as artists and art institutions—as well as with Pomegranate’s creative and marketing teams.
Pomegranate is a leading publisher of fine art and contemporary illustration in a vast array of high-quality publications, including paper goods such as calendars, games, puzzles, and stationery.
Essential Functions- Write engaging copy for B2B and B2C email campaigns, social media, catalogs, product packaging and content (such as puzzles, calendars, notecard sets, and more), artist bios, and advertising copy as needed.
- Copyedit and proofread design layouts and color proofs.
- Research Pomegranate products, artists, and competitors to create accurate, on‑brand copy.
- Ensure marketing content is current and distribution ready.
- Apply editorial standards, brand voice, and tone across all writing, editing, and proofreading.
- Conduct keyword research pertinent to product descriptions, social media, and website content.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager, Design, and Editorial teams to develop content.
- Ability to track and manage multiple concurrent projects with varying deadlines and priorities.
- Knowledge of marketing best practices and content production.
- Communication proficiency, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Workspace.
- Experience in professional social media communication.
- Knowledge of social media automation tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of style tagging and preparation of Word documents for design flow.
- General comfort with technology as it relates to publishing and operations.
- Understanding of typography and text formatting.
- Strategic and critical thinking skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of related experience
- Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style
- Understanding of AP style
This role operates in a professional office environment. After training, employees may work from home up to two days per week, except during peak production and proofing periods when onsite work may be required five days a week. The position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands for typing and handling. Employee must be able to lift office products and supplies up to 20 lbs.
