Blizzard Video is the in-house creative team within the Story & Franchise Development team, producing videos. Our goal is to connect with, inform, and activate the worldwide Blizzard community through epic video content. We are excited to welcome a skilled Associate Motion Graphics Designer to our team.

Our ideal candidate is a skilled motion designer with practical experience and a portfolio that demonstrates a strong grasp of fundamental motion design principles. Their motion graphics reel should showcase proficiency in foundational animation skills, including timing, composition, and camera work.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

This is a 12-month temporary position.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Your primary responsibility will be animating motion comics and other key art across all our franchises. You’ll manage multiple assets and deadlines.
• Knowledge of current post-production industry-standard workflows and archival organization practices.
• Must be highly organized and efficient, with strong time management skills. You’ll organize and optimize AE comps to streamline render times.
• Must be able to work with varying degrees of supervision. Take ownership when needed while remaining flexible to collaboration and feedback, working with your directors, producers, and fellow motion graphic artists.
• In addition to your core responsibilities, you’ll assist other designers on various Blizzard Video projects, including motion graphics packages, title cards, and lower thirds.

Experience

• 2+ years of professional motion graphics experience in a film, animation, television, or video game cinema tics environment
• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, as well as other Adobe Creative Suite software

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of current industry-standard post-production workflows and organization
• Able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work closely with directors, producers, editors, and other team members under tight deadlines and with quick project turnover
• Proactive self-starter, capable of troubleshooting and solving problems independently

• Working knowledge of professional 3D packages (Cinema 4D preferred)
• Familiarity with Localization processes and associated workflows
