Summary
This role sits within a Product & Design organization responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and creating content experiences for highly visible digital products. The Photo Editor will drive large-scale photo research efforts that populate these experiences, contributing directly to visual quality, storytelling, and overall user impact. Success in this role requires exceptional communication, resourcefulness, creative problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment while maintaining the highest quality standards.
OurIdeal Candidate
- 5+ years of experience in photo editing, photo research, or multimedia production
- Passion for photography with deep knowledge across historic and archival imagery, fine art, conceptual work, still life, fashion, and celebrity portraiture
- Strong aesthetic sensibility with a proven ability to translate creative vision into compelling visual solutions
- Proficient in advanced photo research, including sourcing beyond traditional stock libraries by working directly with photographers, artists, and galleries
- Familiar with a wide range of photography sources including large and boutique stock houses, galleries, and independent artist projects
- Expertise in image rights, licensing, contract negotiation, pricing, legal clearance, and final asset delivery
- Highly resourceful, dependable, and comfortable jumping in quickly when timelines are short
- Clear, concise communicator with strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Able to synthesize creative input into polished, high-quality visual outcomes
In this role, you will research, identify, license, and deliver exceptional photography and video assets to support editorial content and product experiences. You'll collaborate closely with designers, editors, and creative partners to translate conceptual ideas into refined visual solutions. This includes conducting in-depth photo research, working directly with photographers and galleries, negotiating licensing and usage rights, managing contracts, and ensuring final art is delivered accurately and on time.
You will consistently uphold rigorous quality standards while adapting to shifting priorities and fast-moving timelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Art, Photography, Art History, Communications, or equivalent practical experience
- Background in publishing, magazines, music, entertainment studios, or creative agencies preferred
Remote but requires candidates to be local to:

- Cupertino, CA : $57.47
- Seattle, WA : $55.89
Flexibility to accommodate travel when needed

CompensationThe pay for this W-2 position is
- CUL: $52.21/hr
- CUP: $57.47/hr
- NYC: $52.48/hr
- SEA: $55.89/hr
This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
