Diversion Designers is a Colorado-based sustainability consulting firm specializing in municipal waste characterization studies, zero waste policy development, and sustainable event management. We partner with municipalities, businesses, and events nationwide to develop practical, data-driven solutions that reduce waste and increase diversion rates. We're a small, collaborative team that values initiative, creative problem-solving, and a good sense of humor.
Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications Coordinator to manage our digital communications and online presence. This part-time position offers the opportunity to share our impact stories and industry insights with our growing audience. The role is fully remote with flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Create and distribute monthly newsletter
- Write at least one blog post per month and reformat content for Instagram, Facebook, and Linked In
- Create and maintain content calendar with opportunities to run campaigns, and other creative projects
- Attend all required meetings
- Periodically make website improvements
- Support special projects as budget allows, including graphic design, template creation, etc.
Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills with attention to voice and brand consistency
- Experience managing social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Linked In)
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (WIX or similar)
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Interest in sustainability, waste management, or environmental topics
- Basic graphic design skills
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Approximately 20 hours per month (5 hours/week)
- $30 monthly phone stipend
- Rush projects (output required in less than one week) paid at time and a half
