Senior Producer

Devil May Care Studios is looking to hire a Senior Producer for Mark Halperin's show, "Next Up”, a daily program focused on politics, elections, media, and in-depth analysis. The Senior Producer will work closely with the host, production staff, and editorial team to drive the show’s editorial vision and daily execution. This role requires exceptional editorial instincts, strong news judgment, and the ability to support booking when needed.

This position is a remote position, and can be located anywhere in the United States.

• Develop, pitch, and shape editorial content, segment ideas, and show themes with strong news judgment
• Oversee the creation of the daily rundown and ensure all segments meet high editorial standards
• Work closely with the host to determine story priorities, angles, and guest strategies
• Provide some booking support, including identifying, securing, and coordinating relevant guests as needed
• Assign and review research to ensure accuracy, depth, and editorial alignment
• Guide and occasionally conduct pre-interviews to ensure guest readiness
• Monitor political news, breaking developments, and trends to inform daily coverage
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless execution of live and recorded segments
• Manage fast-paced production timelines and ensure the show is delivered on schedule
• Other duties as assigned

• Extensive background in political journalism, news production, or broadcast media
• Strong editorial sensibility and excellent news judgment
• Experience with guest booking or contributor outreach is strongly preferred
• Proven experience working with or managing production teams
• Ability to craft clear, engaging editorial narratives under tight deadlines
• Comfortable working directly with high-profile talent
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to pivot quickly for breaking news
• Familiarity with broadcast or sound editing equipment is a plus
• Willing to travel when necessary
• Flexibility to work later hours as breaking news merits
