Overview
As a Technical Designer, you will design within a team with a focus on developing detailed and practical construction plans. Your role will involve leveraging specialist knowledge in construction specific to the TV, film, and events industries, solving complex design challenges efficiently, and promoting a problem-solving mindset within your team. Transforming client briefs into comprehensive construction plans, coordinating with various teams to ensure practicality in CNC fabrication.
While 3D rendering skills are beneficial, your primary focus will be on technical construction planning and innovative problem-solving.
- Design detailed construction plans within a team, focusing on practicality for CNC fabrication.
- Transform client briefs into comprehensive construction plans.
- Coordinate with various teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy in production and fabrication processes.
- Apply specialist knowledge in construction for the TV, film, and events industries to solve complex design challenges.
- Promote a problem-solving mindset within the design team.
- Leverage 3D rendering skills when beneficial, while prioritising technical construction planning and innovation.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in technical design, specifically in the TV, film, and events industries.
- Specialist construction knowledge relating to the TV, film, and events industry.
- Proven ability to efficiently problem-solve and encourage a team of designers to adopt a similar approach.
- Strong background in construction detailing and technical plan development.
- Proficient in Rhino, Sketch Up and other relevant software.
- Excellent skills in technical report writing and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a creative, fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Organisational skills, conscientiousness, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
