Relationship Manager, Theatre (LL75-1)
Contract: Permanent, working 21 hours per week Monday to Wednesday. Arts Council recognises the benefit of flexible working and welcomes applications from individuals who require flexibility.
Salary: £41,211 (pro rata) per annum plus benefits, including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.
Location: London – the role is based in London but operates a hybrid model with remote working when combined with regular on‑site contact days (normally 1–2 days a week).
As a Theatre Relationship Manager you will work with a range of theatre organisations and makers in London.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing funding advice and assessing grant applications.
- Understanding project information and monitoring performance.
- Assessing financial information, identifying risk and providing feedback on artistic plans.
- Working with diverse audiences and projects, including touring, place‑based development and sustainability.
- Engaging with stakeholders across the theatrical sector and supporting positive change.
- Contributing to the delivery of Arts Council’s strategies in partnership with national colleagues.
We are seeking candidates with a keen interest in creativity and the performing arts, particularly theatre, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Applicants should be comfortable communicating with colleagues and external contacts at all levels.
Our team consists of nine Relationship Managers, one Assistant, three Senior Relationship Managers and the Director of Theatre. Together we manage the funding relationship with a diverse portfolio of around 60 National Portfolio Organisations and individual theatre artists and makers.
