Overview
UNM is looking for a multimedia marketing specialist—a videographer, photographer, editor, visual marketer, and creative visual storyteller—to contribute to and elevate the University of New Mexico's brand. The Multimedia Marketing Specialist is a content producer focused on creating video, photo, and other visual marketing content for paid and organic social media, broadcast advertising, event feature videos, and nationally targeted campaigns. The role requires advanced technical expertise in video production and visual design, and a deep understanding of marketing trends and fundamentals.
Selected person will handle projects from concept to creation, develop storyboards, write scripts, coordinate talent and locations, record, edit, publish, and advance UNM's video brand standards.
This new team member will work closely with other UCAM professionals—staff and students skilled in video production, photography, graphic design, digital marketing, social media, and more—on projects that reach every UNM stakeholder from future students to lifelong Lobo alumni. The position reports to the Assistant Director of University Marketing, Creative Production, as part of the university's marketing team. UCAM is represented by marketing, communications, web communications, and social media teams that operate in an integrated marketing communication model.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, plan and produce multimedia content for a range of distribution channels, including TV, radio, social media, web, mobile apps, and digital ad networks.
- Provide feedback to other multimedia producers across campus.
- Serve as project manager on productions of varying size.
- Support institutional marketing projects through video content development.
- Assist in management and scheduling of audio/video production equipment, evaluate equipment and recommend new purchases or upgrades.
- Support on‑campus commercial filming requests.
- At least 2+ years experience in visual/multimedia content production, including editing and color grading.
- Expertise with video/photo camera, lighting equipment, audio equipment and accessories.
- Highly motivated and capable of learning new technical skills and technology platforms.
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite for video and other creative content production.
- Experience in motion graphics, lower thirds and graphic design.
- Knowledgeable about marketing strategy and tactics including digital and traditional advertising.
- Strong understanding of content development for social media platforms and web applications.
- Livestream / live event video production experience.
- Drone photography / videography certifications and experience.
- Social media trends, post‑types, content development experience.
- Engaging digital advertising development experience.
- Exceptional client‑facing service skills.

Working RequirementsPosition is normally performed on campus and during regular business hours. Some evenings and weekends will be required.
