The Focus of the Role
As the Content Editor for Digital, you will be in a dual role incorporating both website content creation and events content. Your primary function is to write relevant and insightful news for the Fleet News and AM websites, working closely with the section editors.
All content must meet the brand proposition and audience needs, with a clear focus on the insight and analysis behind the headlines.
You are also responsible for writing website and social media content to promote key Fleet News and AM events to delegates, working closely with the Editors, events team and external events marketing agency.
Part of this role will also include attending car/van media launches as required, writing review content for the website.
This is a hybrid role that comes with working from our Peterborough office 1 day per week (Monday) and the rest working from home.
Key Responsibilities- Writing news with headlines, photos, pic captions and abstracts for Fleet News and AM.
- Uploading articles to brand websites, following SEO, links and meta best practice.
- Acting as a bastion of best practice for SEO, liaising with the internal SEO team and head of digital.
- Promote content on social media, maximizing the number of people who engage with the articles.
- Write event editorial communications for websites and social media.
- Contribution to editorial discussions on content and brand planning.
- Analyse traffic stats to determine the vital content to engage the primary audience.
- Attending and reviewing new car and van launches
- Feature contribution to major reports – e.g. Fleet
200, FN50, FN Awards, AM Awards, AM100 - Attending industry events – both internal (e.g. Fleet News Awards, Automotive Management Live) and external as required.
- Networking with primary audiences and building contacts
- Supporting the commercial team where required, e.g. client meetings
- Excellent writing skills
- Highly organised with good time management
- Skilled in SEO
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build long-term relationships
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple tasks
- A good team player but able to work on own initiative
