Estimator​/Outside Sales Representative; Construction at Michigan Rose Construction

Overview

Michigan Rose Construction is seeking a driven Estimator / Outside Sales Representative (Construction) with real construction experience to help grow our residential and light commercial business. This role is primarily focused on converting inbound leads into profitable construction contracts while remaining an active, client-facing representative throughout the project.

This is not a project management role. Estimating is streamlined through modern software, allowing this position to focus on revenue generation, accurate scoping, and strong client relationships.

Generate profitable revenue by converting qualified inbound leads into signed construction contracts.

Sales & Business Development

Respond to and manage inbound leads from homeowners and commercial clients

Meet with clients, conduct site visits, and assess project scope and feasibility

Present proposals, pricing, and scopes of work and assist in closing contracts

Participate in outbound business development activities—including networking events, chamber of commerce meetings, referral relationship building, and targeted outreach—especially during slower inbound periods

Build and maintain strong client relationships before, during, and after contract execution

Prepare accurate estimates using Job Tread and Handoff

Use construction knowledge to scope work properly and avoid gaps or omissions

Review plans, drawings, and site conditions to determine project requirements

Update estimates and pricing to reflect scope changes or unforeseen conditions

Draft and manage change orders in coordination with internal teams

Client Communication & Internal Coordination

Serve as a consistent point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle

Support customer communication and service needs without acting as the project manager

Coordinate with project managers to ensure a smooth handoff after contract signing

Primarily residential construction and remodeling

Typical project sizes range from approximately $10,000 to $500,000+

Construction experience required (field, estimating, supervisory, or similar background)

Experience in outside sales, estimating, or client-facing construction roles

Strong understanding of construction scope, sequencing, and pricing

Comfortable meeting clients on-site and working in the field

Willingness to participate in outbound business development efforts when inbound activity slows

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple opportunities

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
