CMC is seeking a Field Lead to oversee and execute on‑site modular building installations across the country. This role is ideal for a proven leader with general construction experience who thrives in a hands‑on environment and is willing to travel to deliver high‑quality projects on schedule.
The Field Lead serves as the on‑site leader during modular building sets, ensuring safety, coordination, communication, and quality from start to finish. This individual works directly alongside crew members, project managers, and local general contractors to complete installations efficiently and to company and customer standards.
What You’ll Do:- Travel nationally to customer job sites to oversee modular building installations
- Lead and actively participate in building set operations and on‑site construction activities
- Supervise and direct crew members, assigning tasks and coordinating workflow
- Work alongside project managers and local general contractors to ensure project alignment
- Serve as the primary communication link between the jobsite and CMC’s home office
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate placement, assembly, and finish
- Ensure all work meets company standards, customer expectations, and quality control benchmarks
- Enforce OSHA‑compliant safety practices and maintain a safe jobsite environment
- Troubleshoot field challenges and implement solutions to prevent delays
- Document daily progress, completed tasks, and final project reports
- Manage timelines to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Travel to project site and oversee initial building set
- Work extended days during active installation phases
- Coordinate equipment, site logistics, and local subcontractors
- Communicate progress updates and material needs with office staff
- Complete final quality walkthroughs and documentation before demobilization
- Return to home base before next scheduled deployment
- Minimum 2 years of proven leadership experience
- General construction experience required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills in dynamic field conditions
- Excellent communication skills with both field crews and office personnel
- OSHA knowledge and strong commitment to jobsite safety
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally for extended periods
