Job Title:
Construction Project Engineer
We are seeking a motivated Construction Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support commercial projects within the high-tech space, ensuring efficient project flow and precise documentation. This role offers opportunities for growth and mentorship in a medium-sized firm with a casual, respectful atmosphere.
Responsibilities- Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other construction documentation using Excel and project management software.
- Support quantity takeoffs, estimating, and materials analysis for assigned scopes.
- Coordinate daily activities between office teams and field leadership, assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent with communication and task follow-through.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Assist with procurement, document logs, updates, and reporting to maintain project flow.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in all documentation—prioritize correctness over speed.
- Maintain proactive communication with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Assist with project setup, jobsite logistics planning, and closeout documentation.
- Proficiency in construction management and project coordination.
- Strong skills in Excel and construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Ability to read construction drawings and understand construction materials and methods.
- Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, contracts, and basic construction workflows.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Skills & Qualifications
- Desire to learn, grow, and support a fast‑paced project team.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Experience in commercial construction is a plus.
The role is primarily based in the Hillsboro office on the commercial team, with approximately 70% in‑office and 30% on job sites. The second role involves working with the Hitech team on ongoing projects in Beaverton, with occasional time at the home office. The work environment is fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, and fosters a trainable atmosphere. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, OR.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $55.00/hr.
