Job Description
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Coordinator for our Power Constructors, Inc. (PCI) sector in Vancouver, WA. This position offers remote work from any of the following mutually acceptable locations:
Seattle, WA;
Lake Oswego, WA;
Clarkston, WA;
Spokane, WA;
Portland, OR; and Boise, involved in projects with our EPC Project Management team and help our growing organization meet client objectives and solve challenges.
This role provides technical project supervision and guidance in managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of assigned projects in accordance with WSP’s core values and the contractual level of services. Responsibilities include overall project performance for moderate to regional scope projects, overseeing finance, quality, safety, and schedule, and ensuring quality at every project lifecycle phase.
Your Impact- Constructability resource working closely with a dedicated civil engineer on early development and progressive design of high‑voltage transmission lines.
- Provide oversight and input to cross‑functional teams on preliminary design through 30% final design, handling budgets, tracking hours, costs, and contractual obligations.
- Contribute to proposal development, cost estimates, risk planning, and QA/QC adherence.
- Assist the design team with constructability reviews, including:
- Construction Specifications and Bid Units
- Construction Drawings
- Construction Estimates
- Construction Bill of Materials
- Construction Feasibility Studies
- Project Documentation Review
- Permitting Support with government agencies
- Environmental Support
- Construction Scope of Work & Schedule
- Collaborate with GIS to create map books
- Develop constructability plans for:
- Transmission line access road routing network and areas of effect, documented in Google Earth.
- Conductor pull plans inclusive of easements and construction step plans.
- Participate in field trips for constructability/field verification and planning; travel up to a week at a time.
- Assist in problem project reviews, providing root‑cause analysis and potential solutions.
- Attend client or multidisciplinary meetings during design review cycles.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company resources and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or closely related discipline, or equivalent proven experience.
- 7–10 years of post‑education experience as a certified high voltage lineman or substation wireman and/or PMP certification.
- Background in high voltage transmission line systems from foundations to wire stringing, and access road routing.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures, specifications, drawings, and bid units.
- Strong grasp of project delivery processes within the high voltage industry.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills for project management decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self‑leadership with attention to detail, multitasking, and adaptability.
- Independent work ethic with minimal oversight and capability to lead junior team members.
- Proficient in MS Office, Visio, Project, SharePoint, and PM tools.
- Knowledge of transmission/distribution line construction from layout to energization.
- Experience collaborating across multiple disciplines.
- Track record of workplace safety compliance with WSP policies.
- Pass background check for Federal badging.
- Master’s Degree.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or equivalent certification.
- OSHA 30‑hour safety certification or similar.
- Experience managing field operations for major infrastructure, transportation, or building projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or other scheduling software.
- Involvement in industry groups such as CMAA, ASCE, or DBIA.
