Commercial / Bid Manager (Contract)

Location:

North West England – 1‑2 days per week remote working

Contract:

Fixed‑term, 20 weeks

Rate: £450‑£575 per day (outside IR35, subject to assessment)

Lodging:
May be provided for the right candidate

We are seeking an experienced Commercial / Bid Manager to support the pre‑construction phase of a major mixed‑use refurbishment project valued at approximately £350m. This contract role is ideal for a commercially astute professional with experience managing complex public‑sector schemes from pre‑construction through to contract close‑out and site mobilisation.

• Assist in the development and delivery of the pre‑construction strategy through to contract award and mobilisation
• Support the programme and delivery plan, ensuring milestones are met
• Participate in and contribute to team meetings, driving actions and progress
• Ensure stakeholders and work streams are aligned and accountable
• Support contract close‑out and management of contractual documentation
• Apply commercial best practice, templates, and lessons learned from previous public‑sector projects

• Proven experience in commercial and bid management on large, complex projects
• Strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes, ideally within public‑sector or regulated environments
• Confident communicator, able to influence and align multi‑disciplinary teams
• Structured, resilient, and delivery‑focused, with the ability to keep projects on track
