Contracts Manager – Cladding Replacement
Location:
South West / Wales (Cardiff office infrequently) + site visits + flexible working.
Salary:
Up to £80,000 + £8,000 car allowance + benefits.

Our client is a well‑established, fast‑growing, multi‑regional main contractor operating at the forefront of refurbishment and building safety works. The business has secured a strong pipeline of post‑Grenfell cladding replacement and remediation projects across England, typically ranging from £2m to £15m+.
This is a contractor with scale, structure, and long‑term visibility of work – but without the bureaucracy that slows decision‑making. The senior leadership team is hands‑on, delivery‑focused, and committed to investing in high‑calibre management talent.
Responsibilities- Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple refurbishment and cladding replacement schemes, leading site‑based Project Managers and working closely with experienced commercial and design teams.
- Report directly to a Director, participating in strategic planning, programme oversight, risk management, and performance across your portfolio.
- Manage workload with genuine autonomy, attending the Cardiff office 1‑2 days per fortnight, while performing site visits and home working.
- Proven permanent experience working for main contractors in a Contracts Manager role.
- Strong background in refurbishment or building‑safety‑led projects.
- Experience delivering projects typically between £1m and £10m+.
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple site teams and Project Managers concurrently.
- Solid understanding of cladding systems and external envelope works.
- SMSTS qualified.
- Commercially aware, organised, and delivery‑focused.
- Confident leading teams and maintaining programme and quality standards.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to improve processes and ways of working.
- Comfortable operating across the South West / Wales region with national site exposure.
- Salary up to £80,000.
