Childcare Assistant / Co-Childminder
Hours:
38 hours per week |
Schedule:
Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 5:30pm | Setting:
Home-based childcare
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Assistant or Co-Childminder to join our small, professional team within a high-quality home-based childcare setting. You will support the care, learning, and development of children aged 0–5 years, creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children learn through play. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early years education and inclusive practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality day-to-day care, including mealtimes, toileting, and nappy changing
- Plan and deliver engaging play-based learning experiences based on children’s interests and developmental needs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, with safeguarding as a priority
- Prepare snacks, drinks, and meals as required
- Complete observations, assessments, and records in line with the EYFS, Development Matters, and Birth to Five frameworks
- Communicate effectively with parents and relevant professionals regarding children’s progress
- Level 3 Early Years qualification desirable (experience considered; training support available)
- Good knowledge of early childhood development
- Strong communication skills and a professional, respectful approach
- Enhanced DBS check and Ofsted approval required (support provided)
- Paediatric First Aid qualification required (training support available)
- Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification advantageous
