About Us

Medallion Family Day Homes (formerly Southgate Medallion) has been a trusted provider of quality child care in the Edmonton area since 1982. As a licensed day home agency, we support educators who provide safe, nurturing, home-based child care that meets and exceeds government standards. Through detailed safety checks and ongoing support and training, we ensure families have access to reliable and enriching care in small group settings in more than 120 day homes in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

Position Overview

We are seeking caring, dedicated, and professional individuals to join our team as Day Home Educators.

Day home educators provide safe and nurturing environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Care & Learning:
    • Provide a safe, positive, caring, and nurturing environment for children in care.
    • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
    • Foster positive relationships with children and families.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
    • Adhere to provincial regulations and agency standards.
    • Ensure proper nutrition and daily routines for children in care.
  • Professionalism & Record Keeping:
    • Communicate effectively with families about their children's development and daily routines.
    • Maintain required records, reports, and attendance.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development provided by the agency.
Qualifications
  • Alberta Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level I, II, or III certification.
  • Previous experience working with children in a child care or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Warm, patient, positive and reliable nature with a passion for child care and early education.
  • Ability to provide a safe and nurturing home-based child care environment.
