About the TeamWarwickshire County Council is seeking skilled Social Workers to join their Kin Vessel Assessment Team. If you're passionate about helping children remain within their extended families when they can't live with birth parents, this is an ideal opportunity.
Kinship is a specialist team within our broader fostering service, focusing on assessment of kinship foster carers and Special Guardians. We are a dedicated team, passionate about improving the lives of our children and young people and ensuring kinship carers receive the support and recognition they deserve.
You will carry out evidence-based initial viability assessments of prospective kinship carers and Special Guardians. These assessments are often time-sensitive to support legal proceedings and permanency planning.

- Social Work Qualification and Social Work England Registration (essential)
- Approved Enhanced DBS Children Workforce (essential)
- Experience in working with kinship carers (preferable)
- Driving licence (essential)
- This role is full‑time 37 hours and countywide.
- The contract is Agile.
- Work is fast‑paced and short term.
- Opportunities for Court work.
- Evening and Weekends work will be required.
- Supportive managers who provide recognition and a robust supervision policy focused on wellbeing and workload.

An NPPV check is required for individuals who are to be appointed due to frequent and uncontrolled access to government assets.
