First Atlantic Health Care is a family of senior and assisted living facilities. This position is part of acentralized, high-functioning payroll team.

This position can be remote following completion of training. However, new hires must be able to travel to South Portland, Maine during the initial in-person training period. After training is successfully completed, work will transition to a fully remote schedule.

Must reside in Maine.

Essential Job Functions:

Our Payroll Team promotes and supports an atmosphere of teamwork and delivers a very high level of service to our internal and external customers:

  • Setup/maintain employee files in time keeping and scheduling systems (Evolution and AOD)
  • Manage workflow to process payroll accurately and timely
  • Process payroll changes: benefit enrollments and changes, pay changes, terminations, etc.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures as well as Federal and State laws and regulations relative to wage and hour matters
  • Act as a resource for Accounting and Payroll questions for all facilities
  • Highly focused on ensuring each employee is paid accurately and on-time each pay period
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED with 1 or more years of payroll experience
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general familiarity with general ledger
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong work ethic, dependable, and team player
  • Excellent customer service
  • Able to communicate with various levels of management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to problem solve using critical thinking skills
  • High level of attention to detail
