Position: Part-Time Project Coordinator (Hartford)
Job Description

The Project Coordinator will support the planning, execution, and delivery of projects that will improve transit operations, rider experience, and organizational efficiency. This role serves as a key link between management, staff, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with the company's goals.

Work Hours

Up to 29 hours weekly. (Remote work unavailable)

Examples of Duties

* Assist the Technology Project Manager and Senior Director of Technology and Innovation with project management.

* Assist with the planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects related to bus operations, technology upgrades, facility improvements, service changes and Information Technology.

* Serve as a liaison between departments (operations, maintenance, IT, customer service, finance) to ensure smooth project execution.

* Collect and monitor CAD/AVL system data issues and identify opportunities for improvement.

* Identify and communicate trends and operational issues.

* Support procurement processes, including coordinating with vendors, contractors, and consultants.

* Prepare project documentation including meeting notes, progress reports, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.

* Monitoring, evaluating, and supporting projects related to CAD/AVL system data to determine CTtransit service compliance.

* Coordinating CAD/AVL system data issue resolution with vendors and CTtransit locations.

* Provide administrative support to the Technology project manager including data entry, tracking, and follow-up communications.

* Providing training and support to different departments on systems as needed.

* Coordinating work activities with transit operations personnel for field and electronic data collection and data integrity.

* Assists with special events and special services.

* Assists in maintaining department databases.

* Assists other departments and divisions as needed.

* Responds to inquiries for information from employees, senior leadership, and/or external partners as needed.

* Assists in managing problems and emergencies involving any department or divisions after hours.

* Work cooperatively with all levels of personnel.

* Attends in-service training, seminars or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the Agency. Provides training for Agency personnel as required. Actively participates in staff meetings, trainings, etc.

* Has thorough working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.

* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

* Minimum possession of a bachelor's degree in business, project management, statistics, analytics, information technology or a closely related field, and one (1) year of relevant work experience or recent relevant course work is required.

* An equivalent combination of education and work experience on a year-for-year basis can be substituted for the 4-year degree requirement.

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is required.

* Experience working directly with customers, vendors and senior leadership.

* Project management is strongly preferred.

* Knowledge of public transit operations, policies and procedures and regulations preferred.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy required.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to multitask, manage multiple projects, ability to conduct training when necessary is required.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required. The ability to quickly learn new software programs is required.

* Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

* A valid Driver's License is required. May be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
