Position Summary

This internship is within our NYK Group Americas (NGA) Inc. company. The position could develop into a full‑time opportunity upon graduation.

Overview

Seeking candidates currently enrolled in and attending a university in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, graduating in December 2026 or May 2027.

Responsibilities
  • Work in NGA Roll On Roll Off (RORO) division in the Business Process Management (BPM) department to learn business functions and contribute to the success of the department and company. NGA RORO is a deep‑sea ocean carrier whose vessels transport cars, trucks, and machinery across the globe.
  • Business Management Group
    • Business Process Management (BPM) team
    • Support NGA RORO business operations to resolve business process and IT issues.
    • Review various NGA RORO business processes to identify improvements that can be implemented by business process changes or IT solutions.
    • Support day‑to‑day activities and projects, as requested.
    • Procurement
      • Assist with a Vendor Contract Storage project to inventory vendor contracts, map contracts to vendors, and work with BPM and IT team to create a digital solution to store these contracts.
    • Accounts Payable (A/P) team
      • Assist with processing marine operations vendor invoices for payment.

Education and Experience
  • Currently enrolled in and attending a university in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, graduating in December 2026 or May 2027.
Schedule and Logistics
  • Duration of employment from May through August (flexible with start date and end date based on student’s college schedule); expectation is at least 10 weeks of employment.
  • Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for 35 hours per week (does not include lunch break).
  • Work style is a combination of in‑office work and remote work from home office.
  • Laptop and any required work materials to be provided for duration of employment.
  • Office location is 300 Lighting Way, Secaucus, NJ 07094.
Physical Demands

The employee is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position. Occasional walking, stooping, filing, lifting or standing is required. The hands are regularly used to write, type, file, key and handle or feel small controls and objects. The employee must frequently talk and be able to hear.
