SALARY: The salary range for this position is $59,661.54 to $96,767.80 for Schedule A, and $59,661.54 to $91,929.42 for Schedule
B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule
A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule

The New Jersey Judiciary, Burlington Vicinage, is seeking a highly motivated, organized, customer service-oriented individual to serve as a buyer in the Finance Division, Purchasing Unit. Under the direction of the Court Executive 2B (Finance Division Manager), Court Executive 1B (Assistant Finance Division Manager), and other supervisory personnel, this individual will function as the primary resource for the Purchasing, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets staff.
The successful candidate will exercise independent judgment and initiative in the preparation and review of specifications, reliability reports, and analyses; comprehend and evaluate information; and advise management on procurement options to meet operational needs. They will proactively provide updates on critical procurements, ensuring transparency and timely communication. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent skills in customer service, interpersonal communication, negotiation, organizational awareness, reasoning, self‑management, teamwork, and time management.
Additionally, a commitment to total quality management, integrity, and honesty is essential.
NOTE:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
- Negotiate with vendors
- Purchase commodities and services in accordance with policies and procedures
- Prepare proposals for the solicitation of bids for commodities
- Recommend purchases of equipment, materials, and supplies
- Prepare technical specifications in compliance with Treasury Circular letters, Judiciary purchasing policies, and applicable laws
- Review vendor bids and product history for potential cost savings or contract awards
- Perform accounts payable functions, including researching and resolving billing discrepancies
- Perform asset management and fixed asset functions
- Give advice/assist Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Asset staff in support of daily operations
- Other related duties as assigned
