Job Summary
The Manager of Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) at Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development and Commercialization, Inc. (OAPI/OPDC) plays a key role in supporting the company’s compliance and risk management strategies. The role involves collaborating closely with business units to communicate compliance findings and assist in implementing remediation strategies, coordinating and integrating the new GRC risk management platform, and supporting the identification and mitigation of business resilience risks for critical business services.
Through these efforts the Manager promotes a culture of integrity and accountability, contributing to the company’s sustainable growth and success.
The Manager, GRC will report to the Director, Corporate Compliance in the Governance, Risk Management and Compliance team.
Responsibilities- Support the implementation, administration and maintenance of GRC software tools and databases, including risk assessments, escalation documentation, auditing and monitoring reports, and critical business impact assessments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of risk management interdependencies to enhance the organization’s ability to identify, assess and mitigate potential risks to enterprise business resilience.
- Support field and home office remediation activities, coordinating with the Director of Corporate Compliance on remediation documentation, coaching activities and closing out remediation actions.
- Collaborate with internal functional partners to generate process metrics, develop data visualizations, perform ad‑hoc data analyses and support the implementation of master data management principles.
- Assist the Director of Corporate Compliance in advancing the business continuity, crisis management and overall business resilience program, including annual testing, risk assessments, tabletop exercises and annual updates.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and functional partners regarding Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance initiatives.
- Support the GRC team with other assignments as required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fast‑paced corporate environment; exposure to pharmaceutical compliance activities is a plus.
- High capability in analyzing, managing, coordinating, synthesizing, consolidating and interpreting data for reporting and decision‑making.
- Experience creating data visualizations and charts for dashboards, slide decks or reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, information systems, data analytics, operations management or related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail with strong editing skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities, with flexibility to adapt to changing workloads.
- Highly organized, proactive and motivated, with the ability to think strategically.
- Experience supporting cross‑functional teams and projects.
- Ability to travel up to 15% annually.
- Big 4 auditing, consulting, or systems implementation experience.
- PMP certification.
- Experience in business process improvement activities; experience in compliance operations or compliance process improvement preferred.
