Payroll Administrator

Description

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team in Chaska, Minnesota. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to manage payroll operations for a large workforce while contributing to the efficiency of government services. The role combines both onsite and remote work, requiring three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

- Process biweekly payroll for over 190 permanent employees, along with 300+ contract employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Manage year-end payroll tasks, including the preparation of W-2 forms.

- Handle tax remittances and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

- Assist the existing payroll lead as needed to maintain smooth operations.

- Perform payroll reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.

- Generate detailed payroll reports and provide insights to relevant stakeholders.

- Prepare payment requests for accounts payable and ensure proper documentation.

- Work with payroll data, exporting and analyzing it in Excel to support various processes.

Requirements

- Proficiency in payroll management, including experience handling payroll for over 500 employees.

- Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to use VLOOKUPs and pivot tables effectively.

- Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.

- Familiarity with a larger payroll system

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure compliance and accuracy.

- Prior experience in city or government payroll processes is a plus.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.
