Salary: $3,861.00 - $6,276.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate range when applicable.

Do you enjoy working in a fast‑paced, remote‑centered environment with variety in your work? The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Business Entity Analyst to manage multiple projects and pivot to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Supervisor I of the Administrative and Business Entity Section (ABES), the Analyst I:

  • Analyzes administrative processes to identify business entity licensing improvement opportunities.
  • Participates in special studies related to business entity licensing issues.
  • Works with internal and external license applicants to resolve conflicts between licensing requirements in the California Insurance Code and the California Code of Regulations.
  • Applies policies and procedures and communicates effectively by telephone or correspondence with insurance industry, license applicants, licensees, and others regarding requests for approval of business entity or sole proprietor names.
  • Makes recommendations for changes to law and regulations affecting ABES’ business entity licensing program.
  • Analyzes and approves or disapproves technical, sensitive, complex documents and fictitious name requests regarding business entity corporations, partnerships, associations, and individual licenses.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The appointee is required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700), including an Assuming Office filing within 30 days of appointment, annual filings, and a Leaving Office filing within 30 days of separation.

Non‑compliance may result in voiding of appointment or penalties. Working Conditions
  • The incumbent must be able to work in a high‑rise building.
  • The incumbent may telework in accordance with CDI’s Telework Policy. Teleworking employees may be required to report to the headquarters office on designated telework days.
  • Daily use of laptop computers, phone, copier/scanner, general office equipment, software applications, and the internet.

  • Analyst I – $3,861.00 – $4,839.00A
  • $4,181.00 – $5,233.00B
  • $5,014.00 – $6,276.00C
