Pensions Communication & Technical Manager

We’re Kingfisher, a team made up of over 74,000 passionate people who bring Kingfisher – and all our other brands: B&Q, Screwfix, Brico Depot, Castorama and Koçtaş – to life. Guided by our purpose Better Homes. Better Lives. For Everyone, we believe a better world starts with better homes, and we work every day to make that a reality. Join us and help shape the future of home improvement.

We’re looking for a Pensions Communication & Technical Manager to lead the end‑to‑end communications strategy and technical governance for our UK pension arrangements. You’ll translate complex rules and regulatory change into clear, accessible content and journeys that help colleagues understand their benefits and take action.

Responsibilities
  • Set the plan: Own the annual pensions communications strategy and editorial calendar (DB & DC) with clear KPIs and measurable outcomes.
  • Committee support: Act as Secretary to the Benefits Committee and support discretion processes (death/ill‑health retirements) and provide guidance to the trustees as appropriate.
  • Support colleagues and members: Lead bonus sacrifice & high‑earner pensions processes; provide technical guidance on AA/taper/protections; partner with Payroll/HR/Reward and advisers on complex high‑earner cases.
  • Manage regulatory processes: Coordinate pensions‑related DSARs and manage communications/case‑files for IDRP stages with Legal/Privacy and the Trustee.
  • Keep us compliant: Monitor pensions regulation, advise on impacts and implementation, complete the annual TPR Scheme Return, and coordinate triennial auto‑re‑enrolment with Payroll and Reward.
  • Deliver campaigns: Lead multi‑channel campaigns across email, web, letters and in‑person touchpoints (e.g., contribution changes, life events, retirement options) from brief to measurement.
  • Partner well: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact on technical, member and communications matters.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in UK pensions communications and governance (DB & DC).
  • Experience operating in large, complex organisations.
  • Proven experience coordinating cross‑functional teams across internal stakeholders and external providers to deliver multi‑channel communications.
  • Strong pensions technical knowledge, including trustee processes and benefits.
  • Skilled at leading through influence across internal stakeholders and external providers; strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Comfort with data & insight (engagement metrics, funnels) to iterate journeys and content.
  • Nice to have: PMI (or equivalent), accessibility/plain‑English credentials.
