How You’ll Contribute: As an Actuarial Business Analyst, you will support product development, pricing, and product management initiatives for index annuities, fixed annuities, and life insurance products. This role works closely with Actuarial, IT, Product Management, and cross-functional business teams to translate business needs into system requirements, ensure successful project delivery, and align technology solutions with business goals. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about the insurance and financial services industry and bring strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to the team.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with the actuarial team to analyze and develop business and functional requirements for product-related projects
Serve as liaison between Actuarial and Technology teams
Develop testing criteria, prepare testing tools, and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Attend ongoing Agile scrums to ensure progress and alignment
Create and maintain detailed project documentation
Prioritize actuarial system enhancements and production support tickets
Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements
Monitor project outcomes to ensure alignment with business goals
Collect and analyze data for assigned projects, including experience studies and presenting findings
Research and resolve issues using strong problem-solving skills
Support the Actuarial team and other departments as needed
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in actuarial, insurance product, business analysis, or systems support roles
Minimum 1 year of experience in an insurance-related field
Understanding of business analysis concepts (user cases, user stories, context diagrams, etc.)
Experience with requirements elicitation, project scoping, and requirements analysis
Experience with annuities and life insurance preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability to prioritize workflows, meet deadlines, and manage multiple concurrent tasks
Adaptability and ability to respond positively to change
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to navigate multiple systems
Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism

Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary role with continuous sitting and use of hands for fine manipulation
