The Dufresne Group is currently seeking a Business Developer, Marketplace to join our E-commerce Team. This role will be based in Winnipeg at our Home Office at 147 Commerce Drive.
The Marketplace Business Developer will be responsible for leading the business development efforts to support and drive the growth of the marketplace program at TDG, in alignment with company and category strategies.
This role owns the seller acquisition pipeline end-to-end prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and preparing sellers for successful activation, ensuring every new partner meets TDG’s quality, assortment, and compliance standards before transitioning to ongoing account management.
This role plays a critical part in expanding assortment, strengthening category coverage, and driving the early commercial success of new marketplace sellers.

As the Business Developer, Marketplace you will:
- Identify new market segments and valuable brand/retailer prospects through data‑driven analysis of the market and category behaviour
- Acquire and incubate key target brands/retailers in line with the long‑term strategic plan
- Own the seller pipeline including prospecting, outreach, pitches, negotiations
- Own execution for small and mid‑tier brands, collaborate with Marketplace Manager on strategic brands
- Implement campaigns and initiatives for new sellers to boost their performance
- Ensure new sellers meet quality, assortment, and compliance requirements prior to handoff
- Ensure overall sales targets are met through planning, forecasting, marketing and collaboration with internal teams
- Recommend processes and performance measures to improve recruitment velocity
- Demonstrate the company’s values in all aspects of work performance
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
- 4+ years working experience in retail/ecommerce, ideally in business development
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Powerpoint, Word, Excel) – ability to develop & delivery quality presentations
- Strong business acumen
- Familiarity with assortment analysis and retail category dynamics
- Bachelor’s Degree or Combination of education and experience will be considered
- Driver’s License Required.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check may be required.
