The salary range for this position is $91,727.00 to $. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.

Remote WorkThe Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Example of DutiesThe Hudson Vicinage is seeking a proactive manager with exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills to function as Ombudsman for court users. The selected individual will oversee the Court User Resource Center and the Office’s supervisory, staff, and intern team. In addition, they will provide procedural assistance to self-represented litigants, educate the public regarding programs and services, develop and manage programs designed to promote public trust in the courts, enhance customer service, and facilitate the resolution of complaints.
Specific duties will include: assisting court users by explaining court processes and procedures; serving as the vicinage information and customer service liaison with the public, including creating, sourcing, and providing resource materials; cultivating cooperative working relationships with vicinage management and staff to ensure overall optimal customer service; developing and coordinating public information initiatives such as court tours, speakers’ bureau, public reception service areas, and information services and materials;
maintaining a resource library including lists of state and local social service agencies and legal referral services; making recommendations to the Assignment Judge and/or Trial Court Administrator for improvement in services to the public; training vicinage staff on customer service, sensitivity, and as to the role of the Ombudsman; recommending improvements in the operations of the Ombudsman’s Office and its activities to the Assignment Judge and/or Trial Court Administrator;
and documenting and responding to complaints, referring to appropriate court divisions, and monitoring their resolution; representing the vicinage on local and statewide committees; and performing related duties as required.
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
