About the Role
Senior Director of Pricing will lead Pet Smart’s enterprise-wide pricing strategy across all channels and markets — U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. This leader will ensure our pricing architecture reflects our Passion for Pets

Working collaboratively across merchandising, finance, marketing, IT, and operations, this role is responsible for creating pricing strategies that balance customer value, competitiveness, and profitability. The ideal candidate is a strategic, data-driven, and collaborative leader who thrives on building partnerships, leading with integrity, and empowering teams to succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute Pet Smart’s comprehensive pricing strategy across the entire pricing lifecycle from regular, promotional, and clearance activities, ensuring alignment with our business goals.
- Partner closely with merchandising, finance, store operations, and marketing to ensure pricing reflects customer needs and delivers value, demonstrating our Customer First mindset.
- Serve as a Servant Leader by fostering a culture of collaboration, belonging, and development and inspire a high functioning team to achieve challenging goals.
- Build and sustain collaborative partnerships across departments and leadership levels, ensuring projects stay on track, insights are shared, and decisions are aligned.
- Represent the Pricing function in cross-enterprise initiatives impacting pricing, promotions, and profitability, acting as a trusted partner and advocate for Team Pet Smart.
- Leverage advanced analytics to understand pricing and promotional performance, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Synthesize complex data into compelling, fact-based stories that influence senior leaders and drive business decisions.
- Ensure pricing and promotional decisions support customer value, aligning with our “Do What’s Right” principle through integrity and data-backed recommendations.
- Partner with IT and external vendors to build, enhance, and optimize pricing and data management systems.
- Own the end-to-end pricing and markdown execution process, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and clear accountability.
- Codify pricing guardrails and governance frameworks that uphold Pet Smart’s commitment to Responsible Leadership and operational integrity.
- Partner with stores and digital teams to ensure consistent, timely, and accurate pricing execution.
- Develop and maintain pricing dashboards and key performance indicators that measure financial impact, customer value, and operational efficiency.
- Clearly communicate insights and recommendations to executive leadership using compelling data storytelling and a collaborative approach.
- Lead the development and governance of pricing and promotions master data architecture and ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Attract, develop, and mentor top pricing talent while fostering a culture of belonging, collaboration, and continuous learning.
