We are seeking a Retirement Plan Specialist to begin learning the full process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans, progressing from document review to administering basic plans through accelerated learning and practical experience.
Role SummaryAs a Retirement Plan Specialist you will learn the full process of administering, testing and reporting on 401(k) plans. Through training and hands-on work, you will grow from document review to administering basic plans, reviewing documents submitted by clients, keeping clients updated on progress, and helping clients understand year-end reporting documents necessary to complete government filings, including the annual 5500 return.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
- Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting
- Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
- Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software
- Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
- Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
- Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software
- Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and related documents
- Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply
- Training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I
- Performs other duties as required
- Must be 18 years of age
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving
- Skills in customer service, organization, and collaboration
- Adequate math and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (business, finance, etc.) or equivalent work experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of 401(K) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations is preferred
- Ability to work autonomously in a self-directed manner

- Must pass a background check
- Must meet work-from-home requirements to qualify
- Complete continuing education based on current certifications
