POSITION
DESCRIPTION:
The Sr. Manager of Counter party Risk Operations drives operational excellence across the solar installer channel, pipeline operations, key business KPIs, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. This role ensures the seamless transition of customers through all milestone payment stages, including post‑PTO concerns.
This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA;
San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in‑office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with company policies. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.
- Support solar pipeline verification activities and lead the Counter party Risk Analyst team as a servant leader who leads with empathy, sets clear expectations, and inspects the team’s performance.
- Review and approve/reject project investigations from a risk perspective.
- Develop, implement and monitor processes and procedures to reduce pipeline exposure across our partner base and ensure operational excellence, efficiency, and scalability.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth.
- Oversee active/suspended channel partner relations and ensure effective outcomes are met.
- Ensure channel partners adhere to their program agreements and communicate corrective action if violations occur.
- Analyze and optimize solar operations, including installation, maintenance, repair/warranty processes, to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement process changes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
- Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Follow the Complaints Process, use tools & resources, and execute policies and procedures to resolve customer and partner complaints/escalations.
- Make outbound calls to channel partners to resolve SLA/SLO violations and ensure successful mitigation.
- Perform QA/QC on inbound calls, emails and case progress to positively manage business partner relationships.
- Directly manage pipeline outliers and troubleshoot with the appropriate team to meet production and duration targets.
- Schedule regular meetings, discussions, and teleconferences to strengthen relationships with business partners.
- Raise partner concerns to the Ops Leadership team promptly.
- Review and analyze RM reports for partner performance and behavior to address potential risk.
- Identify growth opportunities for the Risk Leadership team.
- Review loan documents and installation contracts for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide support to partners how to use the proprietary solar origination software.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience, including 5‑10 years in the solar industry related to operations pipeline/account management, project management, customer service, financial services/lending, underwriting, utility regulations/tariffs and B2B2C.
- Proven track record of B2B2C operations and/or developing B2B relationships along with industry associations and networking group connections.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory and tariff documents and possess a strong understanding of utility corrections and kickbacks and track record of successful mitigation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills requiring sensitivity and discretion; capable of analyzing data; attention to detail; and ability to exercise sound judgement.
- Productive performer who can work with little guidance and manage multiple threads, make accurate forecasts, and hit major milestones on time.
- Ability to influence and direct third‑party providers to execute and remediate projects in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
- Demonstrated track record of working on multiple projects simultaneously; capable of working effectively under pressure, meeting strict deadlines, and completing assignments with little oversight.
