The Team

S&P Global Market Intelligence (SPGMI) offers a comprehensive suite of credit solutions designed to help organizations worldwide assess and manage credit risk. The Credit Solutions (CS) business, S&P’s commercial arm, sells ratings, data, research, advanced analytics and financial‑risk solutions, including subscription‑based offerings, Ratings Xpress®, Ratings Direct® and Credit Analytics. CS contributes significantly to SPGMI’s nearly US $5 billion in annual revenue.

About the Role

Grade Level 11. The Licensing Operations Senior Analyst is a critical support role for Licensing teams in the CS business, focusing on deals for a broad array of global clients across Investment Management, Banking, Insurance, Commercial Banking, Non‑Financial Corporates, and Government Agencies.

Responsibilities and Impact

The Licensing team protects and grows the CS business by mitigating operational, financial, legal and regulatory risks. The Senior Analyst works closely with Product, Commercial, and Legal teams to reinforce governance and compliance, mitigate losses, and enforce licensing and data‑rights protections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Commercial and Product teams across Americas, EMEA, and APAC by providing insights and analysis on client use cases, licensing terms, and deal structures; assist with negotiations for new and existing CS licensing agreements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal contracts to ensure consistency of deal terms and pricing across clients and industries; evaluate and recommend on non‑standard terms.
  • Provide world‑class customer service to Product and Commercial teams, maintaining high service quality and proactively anticipating needs.
  • Support Licensing team on projects, key initiatives, and internal process improvements.
  • Promote value‑based business practices and compliance by educating stakeholders on best practices for licensing CS products and services.
Compensation and Benefits (US Applicants Only)

Base salary range: US $80,000 – US $135,000 (dependent on geographic location). Eligible for a commercial incentive plan and standard S&P Global benefits. For more information, visit S&P Global Benefits.

What We’re Looking For Basic

Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or experience with commercial contracts (e.g., paralegal).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the financial services sector as a compliance, legal, or risk‑management professional.
  • Self‑directed, commercial mindset, and creative problem‑solving ability.
  • Team player with experience working with cross‑functional teams (Product, Commercial, Legal).
  • Ability to translate high‑level requirements into executable plans and secure consensus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Curiosity and adaptability to learn new skill sets.
  • Independent work style in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Flexible to work across international time zones.
Additional

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Understanding of banking and asset‑management functions.
  • Familiarity with data‑visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), Excel, complex formulas, pivot tables, and experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Fluency in foreign languages.
