Overview
VP, Procurement & Supply Chain Specialty Pharmacy. Reporting to the SVP and CEO, Specialty Pharmacy of Lumicera, the Vice President, Supply Chain will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all supply chain activities within our highly regulated specialty pharmacy business. This is a pivotal, high-impact role responsible for delivering lower costs to patients and clients through new and developing business initiatives built to leverage large-scale procurement economics and competitive wholesaler agreements.
This is not a logistics or backend operations role; it is a frontend, procurement-driven leadership position centered on cost-of-goods contracting, wholesaler strategy, and large-scale manufacturer engagement.
What we're looking for: The ideal candidate brings deep procurement and wholesaler negotiation experience, specifically with billion+ dollar primary agreements. - Develop and execute a comprehensive specialty pharmacy supply chain strategy aligned with organizational goals including securing optimal pricing, discounts, rebates, and incentives.
- Lead the creation, distribution, and evaluation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for wholesalers, GPO partners, and other supply chain partners to ensure competitive bids and favorable terms.
- Establish supply chain best practices to maintain partnerships and ensure consistency in process.
- Establish policies and procedures for procurement, contracting, and inventory management to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers to secure favorable pricing and access to specialty medications.
- Expand partnership expansion by recruiting pharmacies into the organization's Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) network, emphasizing the value of manufacturer and wholesaler discounts.
- Establish KPIs and reporting systems to monitor contract compliance, rebate realization, and overall financial performance of supply chain agreements.
- Innovate new products and relationship structures that enable growth in pharmacy relationships and broaden market impact.
- Negotiate agreements with GPOs to optimize purchasing power and cost savings and that are inclusive of participation by other pharmacies.
- Monitor market trends, analyze pricing models and regulatory changes impacting manufacturer and GPO contracts to inform contract strategy and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Drive initiatives to recruit pharmacies into the organization's GPO network, emphasizing the value of discounts.
- Partner with finance, operations, and clinical teams to align supply chain strategies with organizational objectives and patient care priorities.
- Evaluate purchasing and relationship structures for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the GPO and manufacturer relationships.
