We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a pivotal role focused on delivering robust procurement strategies that ensure value for money, compliance, and effective supplier performance. You will oversee the full procurement lifecycle, working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and optimise supply chain performance.

The role will also involve an element of travel for site visits across the country, ensuring strong engagement with local teams and suppliers.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager, you will lead procurement activities across multiple contracts, including private and public sector projects. The role involves strategic sourcing, tendering, contract management, and supplier relationship management. You will provide expert guidance on commercial risk, negotiation, and procurement best practices, supporting the business unit in achieving its strategic and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies ensuring compliance and value for money.
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle: market engagement, tendering, contract award, mobilisation, and ongoing contract management.
  • Prepare and review subcontracts and ensure robust supply chain selection.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Monitor and manage procurement risks using market insights and tools.
  • Drive efficiency and continuous improvement within the supply chain.
  • Support operational teams with procurement advice and dispute resolution.
  • Promote innovative and sustainable procurement practices.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Utilise procurement platforms and tools (e.g., SharePoint, Docu Sign) and support transition to new systems.
  • Proven experience in procurement and tendering processes.
  • Strong understanding of commercial risk and contract management.
  • Experience with procurement tools and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Docu Sign).
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders, re-tenders, and contract extensions.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Driving licence (role includes travel to various sites).
  • Working towards or holding CIPS qualification (desirable).
  • Basic level security check may be required.
