This is a remote position.
Embrace is expanding its Business Development team within our M&A group and is looking for a M&A Business Development Associate
. This role is focused on top-of-funnel sourcing activity, supporting the identification and initial outreach to founders, CEOs, and owners of high-quality software companies.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their business development or sales career who is eager to learn M&A, develop strong outbound skills, and grow within a high-performing acquisitions team.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct outbound prospecting and high-volume outreach to software company founders, CEOs, and owners through calls, emails, and social channels.
- Support the sourcing of potential acquisition opportunities by identifying and engaging with prospective targets at the top of the funnel.
- Initiate early-stage conversations and schedule introductory or discovery calls for senior M&A and Business Development team members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activity, conversations, and target accounts in Salesforce.
- Assist with basic market and account research to support sourcing efforts.
- Collaborate closely with senior Business Development and M&A team members to ensure a smooth hand-off of qualified opportunities.
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly activity-based KPIs, including outreach volume, conversations, and meetings booked.
- Continuously refine outreach messaging and prospecting approaches based on feedback and results.

- 1–2 years of experience in sales, business development, or a role involving high-volume cold calling or outbound prospecting.
- Strong interest in business development and learning about M&A and acquisitions.
- Comfortable initiating conversations with senior decision-makers and handling objections.
- Early exposure to SaaS or software-related sales roles.
- Exposure to CRM tools such as Salesforce.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must be based in Canada.
